Your December Horoscope by Susan Miller
Capricorn Horoscope for December 2008
By Susan Miller
Six of the heavenly bodies of our solar system are about to align in Capricorn in a way that represents sheer perfection for you. In astrology no aspect is as powerful as a conjunction, and this month there will be many conjunctions - all in Capricorn! You are about to experience a truly rare, and possibly life-altering month - all so very favorable - in a way that will not ever be repeated.
The Sun, Mars, Mercury, Pluto, Jupiter, and the new moon will all be in Capricorn at the same time, and for a short time this month, Venus will grace your sign too, bringing the number to seven. To have all these heavenly bodies line up like apples in a slot machine like this is rare, and with Saturn and Uranus supporting all those planets even more astonishing! This will be a time of enormous reward and gratification. You’ll feel prized by so many near you, and opportunity will pop up like sunflowers all around you in late December.
This will be a glorious month for you to see at least one dearly held wish come true. Once this extraordinary energy begins to work its magic, it could exceed all your expectations. You will need to do your part by being out and about and by presenting your ideas and proposals to others. Think big, dear Capricorn, for unbeknownst to you, you may be mapping out your entire future these days!
While you will notice a measure of tension at mid-month, you can rise above it. The tension I am referring to will be due to a troublesome full moon due December 12, and everyone, of every sign, will notice some ripples in their immediate environment. Have faith that you, more than any other sign, will be protected and blessed this month - even at the time of this full moon. Just wait until you see all that the universe is cooking up for you!
That’s a quick overview of what is to come, but let’s now look at the month in detail. Keep in mind as you think about December that your biggest, most glittering moments will arrive at the end of the month, once the Sun enters Capricorn. All right, now let’s start at the top, from the very beginning.
You may want to pay close attention to a very special day, December 1, when fun-loving Venus will align with generous Jupiter. Someone may have a gift for you - or you may buy yourself a generous gift! This would be a fantastic day to schedule a spa or salon appointment or to work toward creating a completely new and updated look to your wardrobe. After you do, plan on stepping out, to have a great dinner out or to go to a concert, movie, or play. If you hear of a party or get-together, that would also be an ideal activity, for Venus will see to it that you have lots of fun and even enjoy a touch of luxury this evening.
The rocky part of the month comes next, due to the Sun and Uranus at tough angles on December 10. Travel could be very difficult, quite unexpectedly so. Be sure your car is in top working order, for a mechanical problem could sidetrack you, or it may be that if you are driving or flying, you may experience excessive delays due to heavy weather.
There is another way this rocky full moon could assert itself, and that is that you may have a problem with an office mate or project. One co-worker could be very cranky or problematic, or a project could become very pressured or veer off in the wrong direction. It looks like some sort of unexpected development will occur.
As said earlier, everyone, of every sign will feel the heat at this very mean full moon - it is just that you will have your full moon in the sixth house of work projects. Like the full moon September 15, this one will be angry with Uranus, Saturn, and to some degree, Pluto. With planets squaring off, everyone will be pushing and pulling in different directions, while something comes to critical mass. Getting a consensus or cooperation will be difficult to impossible.
Fortunately, at the full moon, December 12, you seem to be more of a bystander to what goes on rather than at the center of the storm, because this full moon will be in Gemini, not your sign. You will feel the tension, however, and you will even see this full moon play out in events as news events in the media. It has all the elements of a perfect storm, where many things collide at once.
You need to watch your health at this time too, for the strain of the week may work to lower your resistance. If you feel “off,” see a doctor without delay. You want to be healthy for when the migrating planets reach Capricorn at month’s end, in time for the holidays.
Ok, now let’s get to the sweet part of your report, the time you will come into your own from December 21 onward. At last, the horoscope wheel will turn back to the time when you were born, and you will gleefully feel that all is right with the world again.
Once you get to this point in December you will enter one of the truly magical times of the year, and possibly of your whole life. I know that’s a sweeping statement, but you will have six heavenly bodies in your sign, more than half the bodies of our solar system! That’s saying something!
On December 22, Pluto will meet with the Sun in conjunction in Capricorn, an extraordinary day because they will meet in the critical zero degree, considered so energetic that it is said to symbolize the very life force. Any meeting you have on this day is sure to bring important developments, and doubly so if your birthday falls within five days of this incredibly important date. Write down on your calendar what happens on this day - there may be interesting developments down the line.
Next, on December 24, Mercury in Capricorn will be in perfect angle to Uranus, the planet of spontaneity. A surprise trip may come up for you, or a communication or delivery that you never expected will arrive at your doorstep, and if so, it will thoroughly thrill you. This should be a really happy day. It will be extra memorable if your birthday falls on or near January 8.
When you’re hot, you’re hot - the following two days will be sterling too, December 25, Christmas Day, and the following day, December 26. Mercury will be beautifully angled to Saturn on those days, and that’s significant because Saturn is your ruling planet. You should feel protected and adored by loving family and friends on these two special days. Any pact or promise you make to someone then will stand the test of time.
The week just keeps bringing you good luck. December 27 will be one of your most critical dates of the month to circle on your calendar, for that is when Mars will enter Capricorn for a six-week period, to stay until February 4. When Mars comes for a visit, it’s big news, for it proffers an enormous advantage in all your undertakings.
Mars’ appearance signals the start of a whole new 12-year cycle for you, and it’s a very beneficial one at that! Mars will give you energy and drive, and also put you in the driver’s seat. You won’t take “no” for an answer, nor should you. You won’t have to wait for opportunity to come to you, as you’ll be able to create your own! Mars will give you a special presence and allow you to step up to assume a leadership position in any area of your life, at home or at work. Mars won’t be back for another two years, so while you have the lead, press forward!
I will add that December is the ONLY month of 2008 where every single planet is moving at strong, direct speed. Saturn will turn retrograde on December 31, but for all practical purposes, December is a month that offers you a completely open road.
If you could only see your chart at month’s end! All the planets have come to gather around Jupiter in his final days in Capricorn. Jupiter is packing his bags to leave your sign on January 5, after having been in Capricorn a full year.
Jupiter is the planet of good fortune, and in the past 12 months, he acted as a kindly uncle to help you start endeavors and relationships that were to become very important in time. It may still be too soon for you to know how vital this year has been for starting new chapters.
If there is anything you still want to launch, now is time to send that idea “out there.” Meet with anyone who will see you before your favor fades in early January, for if you present now, your seeds would fall on very fertile ground. 2008 was to be a critical year for you, but often when we go through a vibrant Jupiter year, we are too busy “doing” to realize what a major turning point it is.
We only get a year this critical every 12 years, so it is as rare as it is wonderful. The seeds you planted in 2008 will now begin to grow in the next gestation, the second cycle, also a year in length, due to start after January 5, 2009. If you feel you have not used 2008 to the fullest, do so now, for of all months, December shall be one of your best. Not only will endeavors be blessed, so will new relationships, both personal and business in nature.
Jupiter has been in Capricorn since December 18, 2007, but is getting ready to journey into Aquarius on January 5, 2009. To wish Jupiter a safe and prosperous trip, many planets plan to attend his going away party.
Venus arrived in Capricorn last month, but is on assignment in Aquarius as of December 7. She will miss the most important part of the party, but she will send her kisses and regrets as she moves on to Aquarius. She is needed to ready your second house of money for Jupiter’s arrival next month.
Before this planet of love, beauty, and fun leaves, Venus will work hard during December 1-7 to build social excitement for you. In Aquarius, Venus will work to see you do well financially during the rest of the month, a nice advantage to have during holiday time.
Pluto already arrived at the party last month on November 26, and is planning to stay in Capricorn 15 years. (Yes, that long!) The last time Pluto visited Capricorn it was from 1762 to 1777, the time of the American Revolution! As you see, Pluto’s presence in your sign is quite extraordinary, something we will also discuss in more detail next month. Let’s just say that Pluto rules transformations, so you are akin to a silk worm that is about to blossom into a butterfly over time. Even in matters of health, you’ll show a remarkable capacity for rejuvenation.
Mercury will arrive in Capricorn on December 12 and stay all month, and be at the cosmic party. While in Capricorn, Mercury will bring his gifts of perception, persuasion, and articulate communication. Surely you’ll be on the top of your game, and all the right words will come quickly and easily.
The Sun will follow, for Mercury and the Sun are never farther apart than 27.5 degrees. The Sun does not travel without his gifted messenger, Mercury. The Sun is due to arrive at this cosmic party in Capricorn on December 21, giving you the gift of favor from authority figures, and also the gift of stronger, more robust health. You will feel “in your element” from this time on, and your ideas will have a special likelihood of being affirmed and lauded.
Saturn is on assignment in your financial sector and cannot attend the cosmic party, but will send its regrets along with a gift of fantastic stability by beaming beautiful vibrations to Jupiter. This is important to note, because you do well in years when Jupiter and Saturn are in good angles to one anther. Saturn has been in an ideal position, in fellow earth sign Virgo, all year, but this month Saturn is perfectly positioned to direct its most comforting vibes to you.
Not to be out done, Uranus, the genius planet of invention, will also be on assignment elsewhere in your horoscope. Uranus is now in your third house of communication, increasing your ability to speak, write, and think in new ways. This month, Uranus will also be in perfect position to help your mind crackle with original ideas. You’ll feel the light bulb go on over your head several times this month, so if you need to come up with ideas (and who doesn’t?) then you will do so this month.
Mars will arrive in Capricorn December 27, and will really get the party started. Venus will have ordered the flowers but it will be Mars, the action planet, that really gets the party started. He’ll turn up the volume on the music, open the bar, and signal that the food is ready to be served. Your chart will really begin to rock and roll from this date on. You’ll love this - everything in your life will begin to step to a quicker beat and will continue to so do in the six weeks that follow.
Mars will be the last guest to arrive before the new moon appears on the very same day, five hours later. Jupiter will be at the new moon’s side that weekend, and together they will majestically be at the head of the receiving line to greet all the other planets. Once the new moon appears, you will feel a tremendous push of energy, for she will whirl all the energies of all the other planets together and make the cosmic energy in Capricorn very noticeable. Opportunity will begin to flow to you, and it will all be very exciting.
Time your key initiations for the phase between December 27 and January 5. This is a once-in-a-lifetime type of opportunity, and with all conditions in such an ideal state, you should take full advantage.
If you were born on December 27, or within five days of this date, you will have won the cosmic jackpot. Don’t be blue if your birthday is not at this time. You may have planets in earth or water signs falling at 6 degrees (plus or minus 5 degrees) and benefit just as much, too. If you don’t know your natal chart, just think good thoughts and wait and see!
Not only will business and financial opportunities flourish, but personal relationships will as well. In a year that Jupiter has expanded your horizons, you have met many individuals who will play an increasingly vital role in your future success.
In terms of love, the ancients always wrote that this type of energy from Jupiter often brings your true love. If you are single and met someone special this year, it’s a sign that this person could really be the one you’ll stay with forever.
If you did not meet someone special yet this year, you may now, in December, so make it a point to circulate quite a bit, especially from the date the Sun enters Capricorn, December 21 onward. Fortunately, this represents holiday time, when lots of festivities are happening. If you don’t know any one giving a party, consider giving one yourself, and ask your friends to help by bringing along people they’d like you to meet.
If you are attached, you may decide to have a baby now or find ways to grow and make more of your relationship in other ways. You’ll feel happy and confident about your future, as well you should! As you see, this will be a month like almost no other you’ve experienced.
Remember how hard mid-2003 to mid-2005 was for you? This will be just the opposite. Those dark days are over and they are not coming back!
On New Year’s Eve, the universe will have a last gift for you, dear Capricorn. Mercury will conjoin with Jupiter, planet of gifts and luck, in Capricorn. The joining of the energies of these two planets would bless any trip you take, long or short. Or, it has the power to bring you exceptional news - the kind of news that will thrill you. You may sign a contract on this day, get engaged or married, or receive a very generous gift. Whatever happens on New Year’s Eve will long live in your memory.
You may decide to welcome the New Year by traveling to a new setting - a great idea. Honestly, dear Capricorn, in a month so spectacular, just about anything you decide to do to celebrate the New Year would be the right decision. If you don’t have a date, call friends, but don’t stay home alone. Your stars are dazzling, and you may not realize just how much so until you look back and say, “All that is new and exciting started back in 2008.” Here’s a toast to you, dear Capricorn - this is the start of much more wonderful things to come!
Summary
What a month! If you could see a snapshot of the sky, you would see a horoscope wheel with a great number of planets crowded into one little pizza slice: the Sun, new moon (December 27), Mars, Pluto, Jupiter, Mercury, and even, for a while, Venus. You are hold all the winning cards in this extraordinary lineup of planetary energy in Capricorn that the world will not see again until 2019, and at that time there will be one less planet in the gathering.
This will be the last month that you will have Jupiter, giver of gifts and luck, in your sign. Once Jupiter leaves Capricorn on January 5 next month, he’ll not be back for 12 years. If you have anyone you need to see or anything you need to see, sell, convince, or commit to, it would be wise to act this month. Next month Mercury will be retrograde in Capricorn from January 11 to February 1. Strike now!
The difficult full moon of December 12, plus or minus four days, will cause tension for everyone, but because it will fall in Gemini, it will not likely affect you as strongly as it will the mutable signs. (Those are Gemini, Sagittarius, Virgo, and Pisces). At this full moon you may have problems with your health, so try to shore up your resistance. If anything seems wrong, go to the doctor - you will want to be healthy for the holidays. The buildup of planetary energy in Capricorn will absolutely help you say robust, so there is no reason to worry.
The real problem of the full moon December 12 may surface at work, when political factions will square off. Co-workers will all jockey for a favorable position as everyone scrambles for whatever money (or promotion) is up for grabs, so it will be every man for himself. Again, you have the edge, because more than half the solar system will favor you. Remain confident.
Try to stay on the sidelines - you do not want to get into this fray if you don’t have to. If you find yourself embroiled in one side or the other, listen intently to all that is going on, but say as little as possible. Others will try to provoke you - resist. Things will become easier once the full moon wanes, from December 16 on. After that, the stage will be set for a beautiful Christmas or Hanukkah holiday for you and your family, one you will remember forever.
This will be an extraordinary month for you! All the work you put in this year will soon pay off handsomely in 2009. You are so close to seeing an amazing victory.
In the meantime, celebrate your birthday, celebrate the New Year, and celebrate your accomplishments. You are surrounded with love and are about to enjoy the new life you have been busy creating in 2008. You are only in chapter one of a twelve-chapter quest. In so many ways, the best is still yet to come!
